![]() ![]() ![]() This really plays into the women need saving theme that many Scottish Historical Romances use. Annie gets in trouble and Tam has to save her, Tam gets in trouble and Annie has to save him and so on and so forth. Another thing about this book and that didn't particularly like was the back-and-forth saving of Annie MacCallum and Tam Sutherland. Since this novel is set in Scotland during the the Highland period, the dialect they use is a little bit hard to understand and translate into the English we use today. I really like the plot that this book gives, but there are a few things that I need to talk about. A man with a broken spirit and hand looking for something or someone to help him find peace. A desperate women trying to save her family farm by going to the Hiring Fair to find a husband. I have read many historical romances that are normally set in Scotland with big buff Highlanders and cunning women, but this book really puts a twist on that norm. ![]()
